Art Standards

Expectations
Be Prepared: Come with iPad charged and with other materials needed for the project.
Be Respectful: Use respectful language, tone, facial expressions and body language when interacting with others
Be on Task: Focus and do not let others distract you while you work.
Respect the Art Supplies: Use the art materials correctly, appropriately and carefully. Clean up after yourself.
Persevere: When you make a mistake, keep going! When something is challenging, don’t give up!
Projects
Seventh grade artists are currently working on coil pots made out of clay. Coiled pots are constructed by gradually stacking and joining coils of clay one on top of the other. The coils can be left visible or can be smoothed away depending on the desired aesthetic end result. Students are learning about the the clay process and firing process and will soon be glazing their pieces to make them shiny.
